Keith “K-Dub” Williams

Keith “K-Dub” Williams is an artist, art educator, muralist, and community youth arts organizer. Williams is the Community and Education Ambassador for Know Yourself and serves on the Advisory Board. Williams is the inspiration behind KDUB, a featured character in the Time Skaters comic series, published by Know Yourself comics, as is the skate park – Town Park – he helped build in West Oakland.

A native of Los Angeles, Williams’ personal work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums including the Oakland Museum, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, CSULB Museum, and more. Williams is the founder and creative director of Hood Games, an urban youth festival that blends skateboarding with live art, music, dance, and fashion performances.

Williams holds a BA in art from California State University, Long Beach. In 2008, he was elected to the board of directors of Mocha Museum of Children’s Art Oakland. From 2000 to 2008, Williams was the co-director of the Oakland High School Visual Art Academy, and has worked with students in from more than 40 California schools, neighborhoods and art centers to create community murals. Williams has accumulated “Artist of the Year” awards from Art Is, the City of Long Beach, and the Pan African Film Festival, Los Angeles. Williams is the recipient of the City of Oakland Community Person of the Year for 2015.
