Co-CEO and Founder of Know Yourself
Encouraged by my parents to pursue a practical education, I left art school to study “computers,” as my father put it. I (mostly) enjoyed a successful 25-year career in the high-tech industry, holding key management and technical positions at Raytheon, Texas Instruments, BBN Planet, and finally @Home Networks.
I wanted to meet this worthy interest of hers with information that wasn’t too much but enough so she could build on it as she was ready. I looked at all the materials on the market and, dissatisfied with going right to the entire human body books or sliding all the way down to “I smell with my nose”, I decided to develop a series that would help give my daughter what I consider the most important information she can hold in her lifetime, and that is Self Literacy.
I received my BFA in Metal Arts with High Distinction from California College of the Arts and a Masters of Education, MEd. from Cambridge College. My most recent work is on permanent display at the Maui Ocean Center. I currently serve on the Board of Trustees at my alma mater California College of the Arts as well as being an enthusiastic supporter of arts education in general.
I am active in several philanthropic and cultural organizations supporting education, the arts, and social justice. I live in California with my ridiculously handsome husband, two wonderful daughters and a colorful menagerie of animals including 5 naughty dogs, 20 chickens, 8 koi, 1 rabbit, 1 guinea pig, 2 turtles and 7 buzzing beehives.
