KY App Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the KY App operated by Know Yourself, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our").

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the KY App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are a parent or guardian agreeing on behalf of a child, you represent that you have the authority to do so.

Description of Service

The KY App is an educational health literacy application designed for children and teens ages 8–17. The app provides:

• Interactive lessons about the human body, health and wellness, emotions and mental health, social and life skills, sports, and sports science
• An AI-powered educational chat guide ("Dr. B")
• Quizzes, fun facts, and gamified learning experiences

Educational Purpose Only

The KY App is intended for educational and informational purposes only. The content is designed to teach health literacy — it is not medical advice.

• The app is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
• The AI chat guide ("Dr. B") is an educational tool, not a doctor, therapist, or counselor
• Always consult a qualified healthcare provider with questions about a medical condition
• In case of a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately

Parental Consent

The KY App is designed for use by children. A parent or legal guardian must provide consent during the onboarding process before the child can use the app. By providing consent, you acknowledge that:

• You have reviewed and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy
• You understand the app includes AI-powered chat functionality
• You are responsible for supervising your child's use of the app as you see fit

Subscriptions, Free Trials, and Payment

Parts of the KY App are free to use. In each of the App's six worlds, the first three topics include a free first unit. The remaining topics and units require a subscription. You are never required to subscribe in order to use the free portion of the App.

Plans and pricing. KY App Premium is an auto-renewing subscription offered at $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year (a saving of roughly 33% against the monthly rate). Prices are in U.S. dollars and may differ by country. The exact price and currency that apply to your account are shown in the App before you confirm a purchase.

Free trial. New subscribers are generally offered a 7-day free trial. Eligibility for the trial is determined by Apple or Google, not by us, and the App shows whether a trial applies to your account before you confirm. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged.

Auto-renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before that period ends. Your store account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period, at the then-current price for your plan.

Billing, cancellation, and refunds. All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), depending on where you installed the App. We never receive your payment card details. You manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings, not inside the KY App. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription or stop billing. Refunds are governed by Apple's and Google's policies, and a refund request must be made to whichever store took the payment.

Restoring a purchase. If you reinstall the App or move to a new device, use "Restore Purchases" in Settings to re-apply a subscription already associated with your store account.

Promotional codes. We may issue promotional codes that grant access for a limited period. Each code is single-use, is not redeemable for cash, and may be withdrawn or expire.

Changes to pricing and to what is free. We may change subscription prices and may change which content is included in the free tier. A price change applies only from your next billing period, and Apple or Google will ask you to confirm before charging an increased price.

User Conduct

Users of the KY App agree to:

• Use the app only for its intended educational purpose
• Not attempt to misuse, manipulate, or circumvent the AI safety features
• Not use the app to share personal information
• Not use the app in any way that is unlawful or harmful

Intellectual Property

All content in the KY App — including text, illustrations, characters (Dr. Bonyfide, Pinky, and others), logos, and the Know Yourself brand — is the property of Know Yourself, Inc. and is protected by copyright and trademark laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content in the app without our prior written permission.

AI Chat Disclaimer

The AI-powered chat feature uses third-party artificial intelligence technology. While we have implemented safety guardrails and content restrictions:

• AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete
• The AI is restricted to health education topics appropriate for ages 8–17
• We continuously work to improve the safety and accuracy of AI responses
• If the AI detects potential crisis language, it will provide crisis resource information

Availability and Changes

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any part of it at any time
• Update these Terms from time to time
• Add, change, or remove content and features

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app (if any)

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Know Yourself, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the app or violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
