We talk about Health Literacy a lot, but what does it actually mean?
As defined by the CDC, personal health literacy is the degree to which individuals have the ability to find, understand, and use information and services to inform health-related decisions and actions for themselves and others.
When kids know how their bodies work, they are more likely to take better care of themselves.
Once children learn the science behind the systems of the body, they can translate that knowledge into better choices for their mental and physical wellbeing.
As parents, we always want the best for our children. We want them to grow up to be happy, healthy, and successful individuals. We can help ensure this happens by teaching our kids about human anatomy and the wondrous connection between our bodies and minds.
